                      Mandate:
                   These committees are to be a quick feedback mechanism on how the new training is functioning in
                   CCRA and in the software community.  The joint committee is a venue for the software industry and
                   CCRA staff to work together to provide current feedback to Ottawa on the delivery of the SR&ED Program
                    in the software sector.  It is expected that significant (positive or negative) feedback will reach Ottawa very
                   quickly through this mechanism.

                  Each local committee has a mandate:
                  * To help local managers and the NTSS section to monitor the effectiveness of current practices and
                     the new approaches to assessing software/IT eligibility that is introduced in the Guidance Document
                     and through the training sessions;
                  * To promote public awareness of the benefits and usefulness of the Software/IT Sector Guidance
                     Document;
                  * To help identify issues requiring further clarification;
                  * To work with Ottawa in developing solutions to address issues;
                  * To help identify additional joint industry-CCRA training needs and opportunities, from both a local and a
                     national perspective.
